· Why did you choose to complete an Internship?
After graduating from ANU, I started searching for work. However, I realised I do not have proper professional experience. All the experiences I had gained were school group projects conducted and supervised by exterior clients or lecturers. I had already faced so many failures while searching for work, so I thought, even if I continue searching for work, I will hardly get a chance. So I decided to gain professional experience by doing an internship.
· What have you learned the most during your internship?
My objective of the internship was to be exposed to and understanding the working culture in Australia and gain professional skills. Throughout the internship, my supervisor and other seniors have provided me chances to gain various knowledge and skills. They supported me to learn and take the AWS CCP test. After one month of study, I took the test and got certified. I also have challenged a new programming language called React.js. While using this language, I have done a lot of research and questioned quite a lot to seniors. They happily answered the questions and provided me some recommendations on resources. And throughout the internship, I have gained communication skills on how to question and provide a report or make suggestions to the seniors. After a short but long three-month internship, I realised how much I have grown. I believe this is all thanks to the supervisor and seniors with great support!
· What benefits do you feel Australian Internships contributed to your internship?
Australian internships have allowed me to kick start my career with the right company for me. Without Australian Internships, it would have been difficult for me to find such a wonderful company. And even now, I may have not found a single internship. I appreciate the hard work Australian Internships has provided!
· What advice would you give future interns regarding internships?
I would like to advise those who decide to choose Australian Internships, work hard, learn a lot, take this opportunity as a fortune and get the best out of it. Then one day you will realise you have gained various experiences and skills and you may be able to successfully secure a job like how I have!
· What do you enjoy most about Australia?
I have been living in Australia for more than half of my life, and even though I am an international resident, I do feel Australia as home. I also enjoy the relaxing environment of Australia, which is very opposite to my motherland. I also like how people try to work together with various cultures.
I would also like to thank Joy, Debora, and Josh for all their hard work!
